IDA CREECH BARBER
Ida Creech Barber, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family on Friday, November 16, 2007.

She attended Georgia Teachers College now Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA, and later graduated Cum Laude in 1945 from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Later in life she sold real estate with Fred Williams Realty, Konter Realty, and Adams Realty. She was a member of Wesley Monumental Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years in the Fellowship Class.
Ida’s gifts of charitable service were exceeded only by her faith in and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She truly lived a life of integrity that exemplified her faith. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed but will continue to live in our hearts forever.
She is survived by Dr. George Leland Barber, her husband of 59 years; three children, Janet Barber Thompson Andy, Nancy Barber Zaj Ed and Robert Leland Barber Suzi; four grandchildren: Michael & Stephen Thompson, and Kevin & Jamie Zaj; three sisters: Myrtle Creech Edenfield Hugh, Mary Frances Creech Brough Jim, and Gloria Creech Denny; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the care givers of Savannah Hospice who lovingly gave Ida and her family care, comfort and support. This enabled her to spend her last days at her home with her family and friends as she desired.

I just read the paper to find that Ida has gone to be with our Lord. We all know what a devoted Christian she was and how she is rejoicing in heaven. I am sorry that I cannot attend visitation or the service, but do know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. It has been too long since we have seen each other, however I do still have fond memories of our growing up at Trinity. Love, Jan
